Simplification - NOW!!!!

We hear all the time about the complexity of government. Heck, I’ve written about it myself many times. Actually, ranted and raved would be a better term for it.

BUT NOW I HAVE IT!

To eliminate the complexity in legislation that permeates the halls of power in Austin and Washington, D.C., all we must do is remove computers and modern copying machines.

That’s right, make them go back to typewriters and mimeograph machines. I mean we can let them have electrically powered equipment, but nothing with any sort of computerized technology. No emails, no data processors, no robo-calls, no websites.......NOTHING!

Let’s see how many thousand, two thousand, three thousand, and so on paged omnibus bills they come up with then. I bet there won’t be many if they have to re-type the bill every time there is an edit, a rewrite, an addition, an earmark, or some other change.

NOPE, I bet we get a lot smaller bill, less drafts, re-drafts, re-re-drafts, and so on and so on and so on and..... well, you get the idea.

It’s simple folks (thus the title of this piece), look at it this way, the 13th Amendment freed the slaves in a one-page document, the 19th Amendment gave all the women of America the right to vote in a one-page document, and the entire Bill of Rights (amendments 1 thru 10) are on a single page......ONE PAGE, yet we can’t hardly get a bill passed through congress today that isn’t hundreds, if not thousands of pages long.

So how do you fix this.... SIMPLE....for congress to use typewriters and mimeograph machines to do the people’s business.

Simplification is a difficult process, but this would be a huge step towards once again making things work in the halls of government.

Hey, maybe they should use the manual set-ups as well, would save on electricity costs!!

Later,

Bill
